If You Think You`re Not Blessed

3:43 AM

This week has been pretty exciting! And has been a little busy because of work. But that`s exactly what`s making me smile and look forward to the future with hope and excitement.

I actually got my first paycheck today and I`m like  Yey! I`ve been repeating it over and over around the house, to my sisters and Mom and Dad and I wonder why I don`t get tired doing that. haha I think I can shout and jump and all. This is, actually, not my first job and definitely not my dream job {I want to work for Disney (lolz) or write movies or for magazines someday} but I found out you could be happy and thankful and joyful even if you`re not yet there. Even if you don`t live the live the life you`ve been imagining. Even if your dreams are far away.

On Youth Bible Study last week, we talked about being “blessed”. Usually, we think the only people who are blessed are those who`s got a mall under their roof. Those who work their dream jobs, those who`s got money, those who can get anything they want. We think the blessed people are those who can travel and get a Louis Vuitton as easy as buying a potato from the supermarket. Our culture says the blessed are the healthy, wealthy, beautiful.

But check out what the Bible says:

You're blessed when you're at the end of your rope. With less of you there is more of God and his rule.

You're blessed when you feel you've lost what is most dear to you. Only then can you be embraced by the One most dear to you.

You're blessed when you're content with just who you are—no more, no less. That's the moment you find yourselves proud owners of everything that can't be bought.

You're blessed when you've worked up a good appetite for God. He's food and drink in the best meal you'll ever eat.

You're blessed when you care. At the moment of being 'care-full,' you find yourselves cared for.

You're blessed when you get your inside world—your mind and heart—put right. Then you can see God in the outside world.

You're blessed when you can show people how to cooperate instead of compete or fight. That's when you discover who you really are, and your place in God's family.

You're blessed when your commitment to God provokes persecution. The persecution drives you even deeper into God's kingdom.

Not only that—count yourselves blessed every time people put you down or throw you out or speak lies about you to discredit me. What it means is that the truth is too close for comfort and they are uncomfortable. You can be glad when that happens—give a cheer, even!—for though they don't like it, I do! And all heaven applauds. And know that you are in good company. My prophets and witnesses have always gotten into this kind of trouble.

Matthew 5:3-12

So what do you think?

This verse hit it home for me today.

You're blessed when you're content with just who you are—no more, no less. That's the moment you find yourselves proud owners of everything that can't be bought.

You know, if people would see me happy like this, they could laugh because in the world`s point of view, I have not achieved anything.

But what can make one more happy than seeing God`s will for her life unfolding right before her eyes?  I don`t have a lot of money, but I`ve got everything all the money in the world cannot buy.

Yes, even if His will is far from what I have ever dreamed of. Even if I do have to lay down my dreams and He could not give it back. I know His will is always perfect and good and always out of love.

I feel blessed even for the little things I have now. And for the things I don`t have. And also for the hard things I have instead of the comfortable. And I feel even more blessed because even when I`ve got nothing, even in heartbroken times and crying times, God still calls me blessed.

And I am really blessed because I have Him no matter the circumstance.

How about you? Do you believe you`re always blessed no matter your circumstance?

God says you are.

You have Him and you have the greatest thing all the riches in the world cannot buy.

Blessings!
