Outside my window...

It’s drizzling outside and the sparrows are flying around, maybe looking for a place to find shelter. Feels cool and calming. I hear the birds chirping. Pretty afternoon. ;)

I am thinking...

how nice it would be to walk under the rain, with an umbrella. It’s summer here so cool rain is something to cherish! *wink*

 

I am thankful...

that the meeting tonight was cancelled. I was rushing to finish some paperwork but I can slow down now since the meeting might be moved till next week.

 

In the kitchen...

Green beans and beef. My favorite! ;) But I’m craving for ice cream. It’s a little warm even though it’s raining. A little cool too. I don’t understand! haha

I am wearing...

Orange flowery shorts. Summery around the house! LOL

I am creating...

Tshirt designs and brochures. Summer camp is also one month away so I’ll also be making camp promo materials and the program too!

 

I am going...

to take a short nap later when I post this. Lazy afternoon because of the rain!

I am wondering...

why lately I’m loving old songs. Well, not really “old” but songs that were popular a few years back, like Brooke Fraser’s “Faithful”, Lenny LeBlanc’s. I haven’t been hearing new songs that speak to my heart these days.

Outside my window

It’s drizzling and the dawn’s pretty and quiet. Everything is still and not a single leaf is moving. It’d be cool to walk on the streets—it would look like you’re in a Korean drama (of course, minus the Kwon Sang Woo. lol) I’m also starting to get used to the new view. And yes, I’m looking outside the window of our new house. We’ve moved!

 

I am thinking

about dreams. I realized I have to quit chasing after the smaller dreams I have in my heart in exchange for that one big dream that I know God is calling me to do. In fact, I realized I tried to be  content with these “smaller” dreams because I was afraid of the big dream.

 

But we really have to be courageous and take that leap of faith or we’re missing out on what God wants to accomplish through our lives—not that we have to be courageous in ourselves, but to find our courage in our Big God, the One who planted those dreams in our hearts. Right?

I am thankful

for every blessing that I have in my life right now. God is so, so good and this verse is coming to life in my life right now—after the long desert season.

 

Forget what happened long ago! Don't think about the past. I am creating something new. There it is! Do you see it? I have put roads in deserts, streams in thirsty lands.

In the kitchen

Oh, I don’t know what we’ve got in the kitchen! Since we’ve started to move, I’ve never eaten a home-cooked meal. We’ve been  ordering stir-fried noodles from the local noodle shop or making salted duck eggs with tomatoes—which are both YUMMY!

Pyjamas. In pastel polka dots. lol

I just printed out my mini card (calling card) last night! But I think it’s funny and I don’t have the guts to hand it out to friends or to new ones I’ll be meeting.  It’s got a big picture of my face on the front page! lol

to go fix myself a glass of milk. Hungry.

 

I am wondering

why the neighbors’ dogs love to bark at 2am. Yes, almost all of our neighbors own a dog and they bark in chorus every morning. Really funny.

Everything is still in boxes and bags. Still got a lot of unpacking to do.

 

One of my favorite things

is my pocket journal (which is full now! Only one page remaining!) and my little prayer box where I keep prayers requests. And creamy drinks! I’m lovin’ chocolate milk like a kid again!

 

A few plans for the rest of the week:

 

Grocery shopping and find a good breakfast menu for the girls and,

just to keep everything in order around the house.

Outside my window...

It`s dark and I couldn`t see anything out there. Really. ;) It rained late this afternoon and it`s cool now.

 

I am thinking...

of finding a job where I can practicing my writing. It had always been my dream. And I`m thinking of taking my first baby steps towards it.

 

I am thankful...

for everything I have in my life right now. Family. Friends. Ministry. My loving Savior.

 

In the kitchen...

We had tinola for dinner. It`s a soup made with chicken, ginger, and sayote and chili leaves. My dad is a tinola expert!

 

It`s on the menu every week and if this goes on for a year, I might not be so in love with tinola like how I used to! haha ;)

{oh, what am I creating?!} Ah, I`m working on another blogpost about what`s inside my purse.

 

I am going...

to meet with Onah on Friday. Excited! We`re having a private viewing of the 1040 movie with the youth group sometime in September. But I`m so excited to see Onah just to hang out. It`s almost a year since the last time we talked over ice cream. Uhm, was it ice cream?

if I would fulfill my dreams—in a very hopeful tone.

to work with Bart in a TV station someday. {Bart is our favorite “younger brother” in college, when Ava and I were still in Messiah.} We were chatting last night about our dreams and I was so touched. He was encouraging me so well and thank you again Bart, for believing in me!

I am looking forward to...

have a tea party with friends. And sleep over at Ynah`s. I`ve been terrible lately when it comes to spending time to friends I love. I was so consumed with my everyday life and God has been reminding me that I should balance every facet of my life. (I was playing Ciao Bella this morning, the time management game… and I got Game Over a lot of times. The message read: You have to balance every facet of your life. Ouch!} I know the Lord desires me to be “Ms. Friendship”!

 

Around the house...
Mom is cleaning. Ava is doing her homework—{and Facebook-ing, I know}haha. Dad is already asleep. He helped wash clothes the whole day and he`s so tired. I made coffee for him early this afternoon. ;)

 

One of my favorite things...

Olive oil. {Of all things, why olive oil?!!!} But I`ve been trying homemade beauty recipes and olive oil really works so well! I actually have an olive oil hair mask on right now!

A few plans for the rest of the week:

--Finish bible study lessons early

--Finish the kids church lessons about donuts. Yeah! Do you remember the donut man? We`re thinking of using the same illustration to teach kids. Life without Jesus is like a donut, `cause there`s a whole in the middle of your heart!

Outside my window

It’s dark outside!  I was surprised ‘cause I just woke up and thought it’s Monday morning already. But it’s Saturday afternoon. haha I slept at around 8am this morning because we got home from Laguna at 7am. Still groggy!

 

I am thinking

of everything that has happened last night on our way home. Our tire got flat twice! Poor driver! But God has protected us. We were not on a busy street or on the express way when it happened.

 

 

I am thankful for

protection, and family and nice bonding time with my friends from church last night. I saw Oliver, too, after many months! He’s grow so much now and he still remembers me!

 

From the learning rooms

I’m badly missing my Korean lessons! I’m many lessons late. I hope I can study this week! But I’ve learned how to make GIFs. lol  I wonder why I haven’t learned this before.

{I made a lot of blinkies the day I learned this. My sisters would laugh at me if  they see all the blinky icons on my desktop.}

Papa went to the supermarket while I was asleep and came home with ingredients for Nilaga.

Ava is cleaning and Viola is preparing to sleep. She wasn’t with us last night and just got home. She was on a conference hosted by the Phil. Council of Evangelical Churches.

 

One of my favorite things

Travelling with friends and stop-overs. When our tire got flat twice, we were able to talk more and take pictures under a tree…and the second time it happened, we had coffee in a nearby friend’s house. So fun! But I feel so sorry for the driver and his friends!

 

A few plans for the rest of the week

Go to the bank again {Verifying my account is taking longer than I expected}, fill up my school application papers, send my CV, and pray about making greeting cards (An opportunity opened for me to design greeting cards for a company but I’m not sure if this is what God wants me to do.)

I lay down under a tree last night, while the tire was getting fixed. So tired. I used my backpack as pillow. That’s my view while lying down. The streetlight was so bright!

Outside my window

There`s this little stall selling snacks in front of our house. The street looks really still and quiet because it just stopped raining. Even the leaves are not moving. But people are lining up in that little stall. I find it cute.

 

I am thinking...
of hurrying up to go back working on the design project due this week. Feeling a bit pressured because of the client`s wishes. Client likes the designs so far but asked me to do a tough detail revision of her hang tags.

I am thankful... 
For rest and time to relax.

 

In the kitchen...
is Turon. For my non-Filipino readers, it`s a Filipino afternoon snack made with saba bananas (cooking bananas) sliced into thin lengthwise pieces, rolled in sugar, and wrapped in spring roll wrappers. The bananas are rolled again in brown sugar and deep fried. I love the crisp wrapper and melted brown sugar covering it!

I am wearing...
A shirt that has a big black print that reads Funky at the front and Girl at the back. This used to be Viola`s. I don`t know where she got this. I just put Ava`s tiara down.

Flyers and stationery and hang tags. {I`m thinking of giving design freebies here on the blog once in a while…}

when will I receive the scholarship results in my email.

The Book of Joshua. I am amazed at what I`ve been learning so far.

to start a business with my sisters in the near future. We haven`t agreed on anything yet. I was thinking of designing. Or starting a gift shop (it`s my dream). Ava said it would be wise to start a food business.

Mama is watching TV. Ava is watching TV on another room. They just had lunch. I`m waiting for my food to cool down though.

Get a new pair of flats, go to the dentist, get a basket of produce from the supermarket and make a salad, do my laundry, and finish writing my 100 Before 100 List!

about last night`s sweet victory. Ava won in the pageant! So happy!

Korean! I printed my lessons before the storm came so that`s what kept me busy when the electricity was gone last week.  Language-learning is really challenging, but I`m enjoying the difficulty.

Pyjamas! We woke up late. Got home a 4am this morning. The pageant ended at 2am. Papa is still asleep. It`s 12nn!

Go to the bank `cause they`re asking me a penalty for my dormant account (the one I had back in high school and college). They`re charging P200 every month until I get it active again. Too much!

It`s 2am. I`m afraid to look outside. haha Last night, it was raining and the ground is wet, the plants look hydrated and healthy like ladies when they get a good night sleep. It`s really like June now. Oh, it started to rain so hard again!

I am thinking

about going to be after this to get my own beauty rest.

Dreams and very encouraging parents and sisters. They push me well and hard, I`m going for my secret dreams now!

Mom`s plants are still. No soft, cool breeze blowing. I guess it`s gonna be a little cloudy today.

that I love being awake as the dawn breaks… until the sun finally rises. The cool morning that looks a little foggy brings back sweet memories of grade school days.

a breakfast will be on making in a few minutes. The house is still quiet. The girls and Mom still asleep. Surprisingly, Dad is awake washing clothes since 5am. I wonder what did he dream of last night? ;p

Viola`s baggy T-shirt (Shhh…) and Mom`s shorts she lent me last night. I borrowed `cause temperature was really high last night and I didn`t have thin, clean summer clothes ready.

It`s starting to get dark. Daylight lasts a bit longer now that it`s summer. Mom`s bougainvilleas still have baby sprouts. I wonder if it`ll take them till May to bloom. But I love the sun and how bright it is outside.

Of how faithful God is. Flowers are blooming in my heart.

A delightful opportunity to cook for my cousins. The guys were here at home just a while ago. We`ve been planning for the Grand Family Reunion on monday.

We finished everything already! What remains is a fridge full of chicken waiting to be cooked…and a lot of coffee.

Mom has fallen asleep on the sofa. Guitar and Ava`s chord charts still on the couch. Snacks still everywhere. The dogs, I think, are asleep. ;)

A sample chapter of Captivating by John and Stasi Eldredge. I`ve really been wanting to read that but they`re always sold out on bookstores every time. Makes me cry! And Korean lessons.

I am hoping.....

to have an awesome time at the reunion next week. I wish everyone will be able to come. This is our first grand reunion ever. To see more flowers bloom. To have many day trips and enjoy summer outdoors. To have ice cream over the weekend!
